Resilient Minds, Resilient Bodies: The Vagus Nerve as a Pathway to Emotional Wellbeing. My upcoming talk at the NMI Summit 2025.

I am so excited to be speaking at the Nutritional Medicine Institute (NMI) Summit 2025 on Friday 4th October!

I’ll be exploring the vagus nerve as a pathway to emotional and physical resilience, from how gut-brain communication and dietary patterns influence vagal tone, to the role of breath, posture, and even therapeutic relationships in supporting balance and recovery.

We’ll look at how heart rate variability offers a practical window into vagal health, how microbial metabolites like SCFAs and tryptophan derivatives connect diet to mood and stress, and how simple daily practices like slow breathing or humming can help rewire our nervous system toward calm.

It’s a topic close to my heart, blending science, clinical insight, and lived experience, and I can’t wait to share ideas, tools, and inspiration that you can bring into your own practice or daily life. See you at the NMI Summit 2025! Take care until then.

Dr Miguel 💛
