Online Learning, Membership & Community Terms

These terms apply to The Circle, live and recorded masterclasses, Circle Gatherings and other online learning provided by MiguelMateas Ltd. By purchasing or participating, you agree to these terms alongside the general website Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice.

Purchasing and access

Prices, payment arrangements and what is included are shown on the relevant sales page before purchase. You are responsible for providing an accurate email address so that joining instructions, recordings and other materials can reach you.

Access is for the purchaser only and must not be shared with another person unless expressly stated.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights. Any applicable cancellation rights, including those relating to immediate access to digital content, will be explained during purchase or in your confirmation email.

The Circle membership

The Circle is a monthly subscription that renews automatically using your chosen payment method until cancelled.

You may cancel before your next renewal through your account or by contacting [email address]. Unless otherwise required by law, cancellation stops future payments and your access continues until the end of the period already paid for. Part-used membership periods are not normally refunded.

If membership prices change, you will be given reasonable notice before the new price applies. Any specific conditions attached to a founding-member rate will be stated when you join.

Active membership provides access to the areas and activities described on The Circle sales page. Topics, resources and dates may occasionally change, but I will make reasonable efforts to maintain the overall nature and value of the membership.

Masterclass bookings

The price, date, expected duration, materials and availability of a recording will be stated on each masterclass sales page.

If you cannot attend live, your entitlement to a recording or transfer will depend on what was included when you booked. Inability to attend does not automatically create a right to a refund, although your statutory rights remain unaffected.

If I cancel a masterclass and cannot provide a suitable alternative, you will be offered a transfer or refund of the amount paid.

Recordings and participation

Live masterclasses and Circle Gatherings usually take place on Zoom and may be recorded. Depending on how you participate, a recording may include your display name, image, voice, questions, written messages and views expressed during the conversation or Q&A.

Masterclass recordings may be made available to registered attendees and, where stated on the relevant sales page, to future purchasers of the on-demand masterclass. Circle Gathering recordings are available only to current and future Circle members with an active membership.

You are welcome to keep your camera and microphone off, use a first name or nickname, and participate only as much as feels comfortable. A reminder will be given before recording begins.

Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information or anything that identifies a client, patient or another person. Questions may be paraphrased, anonymised or removed from a replay where appropriate.

Recordings and contributions will not be used publicly, in advertising or on social media without separate permission.

Contributions within The Circle

Comments, questions, images, GIFs and other material posted within The Circle are visible to other members and may remain within its private archive.

Please share only what you feel comfortable sharing with current and future members. Do not identify another person without permission or include confidential information about clients, patients or colleagues.

The Circle is a private community, but absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed. Members must not screenshot, record, reproduce, quote or distribute another member’s contributions outside The Circle without their permission.

Community conduct

Questions, thoughtful disagreement and different perspectives are welcome. Please communicate with care, speak from your own experience and respect other members’ boundaries.

Discrimination, harassment, personal attacks, unlawful material and repeated disruption are not permitted. Content may be removed, and membership access may be restricted or ended, where reasonably necessary to protect members or the community.

There is no requirement to contribute, attend every Gathering or keep up with all the materials. You are welcome to participate according to your interest and capacity.

Educational information

The Circle and masterclasses provide education, reflection and general information. They do not provide individual medical, nutritional, psychological or therapeutic advice and do not create a practitioner-client relationship.

Nothing shared should be used as a substitute for assessment, diagnosis or treatment from an appropriately qualified professional. Practitioners remain responsible for their own scope of practice, professional decisions and responsibilities towards clients.

Views expressed by participants are their own and should not be understood as advice from Dr Miguel Toribio-Mateas or MiguelMateas Consulting Ltd.

Resources and intellectual property

Masterclass recordings, slides, guides, workbooks, frameworks and other resources remain the intellectual property of MiguelMateas Ltd, Dr Miguel Toribio-Mateas or the credited creator.

They are provided for your personal learning and professional reflection. Unless expressly permitted, they must not be copied, adapted, distributed, uploaded elsewhere, taught, sold or incorporated into commercial products or services.

Membership or masterclass attendance does not provide certification, accreditation or a licence to reproduce or commercially deliver PHOCUS, the Four-Signal Map or other proprietary tools.

If you would like to use a resource beyond your own learning or reflection, please contact [email address] to discuss permission.

Technology and third-party services

Online learning and community features may be delivered through services including Squarespace, Zoom, payment providers and FastComments. These services may process personal information under their own privacy terms and as described in the website Privacy Notice.

You are responsible for having a suitable device and internet connection. I will make reasonable efforts to maintain access but cannot guarantee that third-party platforms will always operate without interruption.

Privacy

Personal information is handled as described in the website Privacy Notice. This includes information needed to administer purchases and membership, provide access, communicate with you, host online activities and maintain appropriate records.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the services or legal requirements change. Significant changes affecting existing members will be communicated before they take effect wherever reasonably possible.
